The Center for Family Justice is pleased to announce that Olympic Gold Medalist and survivors’ advocate Aly Raisman will be the keynote speaker at its 22nd annual Speaking of Women luncheon.
Presented by People’s United Bank, the luncheon will take place at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at The Waterview in Monroe.
Raisman joins a long legacy of noteworthy keynotes for this always meaningful and impactful luncheon, which is one of CFJ’s most important fundraisers of the year.
Raisman was the team captain of the gold medal winning U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016. She is the second most decorated American gymnast of all-time, holding six Olympic medals. The most decorated U.S. gymnast of the 2012 Games, Raisman captured the heart of the nation as she became the first American gymnast to win gold in her competitive specialty, floor exercise. One of only two U.S. gymnasts to have the honor of making back-to-back Olympic teams in more than 15 years, she helped guide her team to gold and landed a silver medal in the All-Around competition at the 2016 Games.
A leader on and off the gym floor, Raisman uses her platform to promote positive body images and encourages everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin. In her New York Times best-selling memoir Fierce–she shares the highs and lows of her journey, including her survival of sexual abuse by a now convicted team doctor who abused scores of other athletes under his care. Inspired by an army of survivors, Raisman continues her advocacy for systematic changes within the sport of gymnastics and efforts to help eradicate sexual abuse in youth sports.

Tickets for Speaking of Women are $175 per person. Tickets which include access to the event’s VIP reception are $250 each.
