Who We Are
The Center for Family Justice is a nonprofit which provides free, confidential crisis and supportive services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence in the communities of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull.
As Connecticut’s first Family Justice Center, CFJ strives to provide all the services its clients need under one roof in one safe place. With roots that date back to 1895, when we began as the Bridgeport YWCA, CFJ has worked for more than a century to help keep victims safe and provide the services they need to go on to lead lives free of trauma and abuse. CFJ’s comprehensive services include a 15-bed domestic violence transitional house, counseling, support groups, 24/7 crisis hotlines, civil/legal and self-sufficiency services.
CFJ is also proud to be the founder of the Elizabeth M. Pfriem Camp HOPE America-Bridgeport, New England’s first trauma-informed camp and mentoring program for youth ages 7-17 impacted by domestic or sexual violence.
