Keeping You and Your Loved Ones Safe From Harm
The Center for Family Justice operates a 15-bed domestic violence safe house for adults and children fleeing their abusive situation.
Our Crisis Counselor/Advocates offer support in a secure, non-judgmental environment where families, individuals and children can safety plan, access appropriate services and resources, and work towards an independent-living situation. Our home offers up to 60 days of emergency shelter for men, women and children. Residents receive advocacy and counseling services from the staff both at CFJ’s office on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport and in the residence.
Our safe house is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for clients in crisis.
A Network of Support
Our home is part of statewide and nationwide networks of safe homes to ensure that immediate safety and ongoing healing are accessible for all victims and survivors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender/gender identification or religion.
The goal of this residence is to provide culturally- and linguistically-sensitive care and support. For nearly 130 years, CFJ has been serving victims and raising awareness about domestic and sexual violence in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull in Fairfield County.

Coming Soon: Patti’s Place
“If you can’t be safe in your own home, then where can you be?” In 2024, the Center for Family Justice will open its new safe house, Patti’s Place, named after our beloved volunteer, supporter and friend Patti Masarek.
Patti’s Place will be a state-of-the-art facility that will be secure for individuals and families. The building will also house vital services including free legal support, wellness, social counseling, housing and job-seeking assistance.
We expect the safe house to open its doors by early 2024.
