Often, our clients in crisis come to our Kathie’s House safe house in the midst of personal emergencies involving domestic violence and have little in the way of possessions.

Many of the donations we rely on to we to help our clients in crisis meet their most basic needs are currently in short supply.

To help our deserving clients live more comfortably as they work to rebuild their lives, we appreciate donations of the following;

Gift Cards: Gift cards in small denominations to stores such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens and CVS as well as grocery stores such as Stop & Shop allow our clients to retain the dignity of making personal choices when shopping for themselves and their families. Right now, CFJ is out of stock of gift cards.

Toiletries: We always need items such as toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, moisturizers, deodorants, tampons, disposable razors and other personal hygiene items. Right now, our supplies are close to depleted.

Snacks: Often our clients come to us in the midst of a personal crisis and may have gone a while without a regular meal. Portable snacks such as nuts, popcorn, granola bars, applesauce and crackers help us provide them with some quick energy while they are waiting to see a member of our Direct Services Team. We are grateful for donations of this type as we are often in short supply.

We cannot accept perishable food items which require refrigeration.

Community members are welcome to drop off donations in our lobby weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For questions about donating any of these times, please contact Community Relations Coordinator Beth Fitzpatrick at 203-334-6154 ext. 128 or by email at [email protected].
