Trumbull Resident Anthony Iannini Honored with Distinguished Community Service Award

Trumbull resident Anthony J. Iannini has been honored with the distinguished 2015 Community Spirit/Pro Bono Award for his legal community service and philanthropy by the International Practice Management Association.

Iannini, the Global Legal Operations Manager at Norwalk-based GE Capital, also serves on the board of directors of The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport. He was honored by IPMA at ceremonies held Oct. 30 at the Westin Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The award is given to an IPMA member in recognition of their commitment of their time and pro bono legal services to advance the public good. Particular emphasis is given to honoring IPMA members whose work is focused on behalf of the disenfranchised including the homeless, HIV/AIDs patients, the elderly and domestic violence victims.

For the past three years Iananni has been a committed board member and active volunteer on behalf The Center, which serves as the domestic violence and sexual assault crisis and prevention center for the communities of Trumbull, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Monroe and Easton. He also serves on its Board Governance committee.

“Being chosen for this award by the International Practice Management Association Awards Committee is one of the greatest honors of my career,” Iannini said. “I am both humbled and overwhelmed that the committee chose me over many other qualified and deserving candidates for doing what I love to do.”

Debra A. Greenwood, president/CEO of The Center for Family Justice, said she was pleased to see such a valued board member being recognized for his service. “Anthony is a committed and generous partner and a powerful example of the role men can play in advocating on behalf of victims of domestic and sexual violence,” she said. “We’re so delighted he’s been honored with the recognition he so richly deserves.”

In addition to be honored for his work with The Center, Iannini was also recognized for his generous work on behalf of the Delaware Law Related Education Center and the Widener University Law School’s Legal Institute in Delaware, where he is also a board member and adjunct professor.
