Turn your passion for helping others into meaningful action with our in-depth training course facilitated by The Center for Family Justice (CFJ). Through 40+ hours of expert-led instruction, our staff and community partners will provide you with the knowledge and tools to effectively support and advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse.
The curriculum covers various crucial topics, such as the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse. Participants will explore trauma-informed approaches, strength-based safety planning, hope-centered advocacy, and strategies for community collaboration. Key areas of focus include state confidentiality requirements, violence prevention strategies, working effectively with diverse communities, and local and national resources. Additionally, participants will explore strategies for social change through engaging discussions and interactive group activities.
This training is mandatory for anyone working or volunteering directly with victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence in Connecticut. Participants who are not currently affiliated with CFJ or any member agency in the statewide network will receive a certificate of completion upon fulfilling all training requirements.
