The Center for Family Justice offers confidential and comprehensive crisis emergency services for anyone suffering from domestic and sexual violence, including child abuse.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence occurs when one person maintains power and control over a partner in an intimate or family relationship using one or more of these behaviors: physical, verbal, emotional, sexual. Call 203-384-9559 for emergency services.

Sexual Assault

Sexual assault is any non-consensual sexual act forced on one person by one or more persons. Forms of sexual violence can include rape, sexual harassment, or any other form of unwanted sexual contact. Call 203-333-2233 for emergency services.

Child Abuse

Child abuse: More than 5 children die daily in the United States, victims of child abuse or neglect. More than 15 million children witness domestic violence at home and more than 6.2 million cases of child abuse or neglect are reported annually. Call 203-384-9559 for emergency services.


Advocacy at The Center is two-fold: providing short-term counseling to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault; and criminal and court advocacy, providing such services as legal assistance, restraining orders and counseling. Call 203-334-6154 for information.

Safe house

Safe House at Kathie’s Place is our domestic violence shelter for women and families needing emergency housing. We also place men in emergency housing. Paul’s Place is our transitional housing for those who need some extra time between leaving Kathie’s Place and living on their own. Call 203-384-9559 for emergency services.
