October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Join us in our inspiring change workshop series!
Participants will learn about the dynamics of intimate partner violence including methods of control, risk factors for perpetration, how to identify risk and lethality factors as well as learn effective approaches when safety planning with survivors. In addition, participants will learn strategies to prevent intimate partner violence, promote social change and how to access community and statewide resources.
About the Instructor
Amanda Posila, Director of Education & Community Engagement, provides expertise, leadership and support to the agency’s intervention and prevention services. In her current role, Amanda promotes social change and justice through education, advocacy, collaboration and community organizing. Amanda has over 15 years of experience working with victims of domestic and sexual violence as well as raising awareness within diverse communities. In addition, Amanda provides leadership to the agency’s Partner Leadership Team, White Ribbon Campaign, and VOICES Survivor Advisory Board.
