The Center offers community and professional trainings on issues related to domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse. Many of the trainings we provide are in collaboration with our community partners.
Training offerings will be updated regularly on this page.
If you have a request for a specialized training, please contact Amanda Posila, Director of Education & Community Engagement, at email@example.com or 203-334-6154.
Training and Workshops
CFJ offers a 40-hour state mandated training to become a certified domestic and sexual violence advocate/counselor. For participants interested in volunteer opportunities at CFJ, this training is the first step in working directly with survivors. This training is also open to community providers who would like a comprehensive training in the field of domestic violence, sexual violence and child abuse. Upon completion, community providers will receive a certificate of completion.
Typically, this training is offered three times a year in September, May and January. Our next training is scheduled for Jan. 2021.
Please contact Amanda Posila at the email listed on this page to learn more.
Online Training Institute Sponsorship Opportunities
CFJ offers expert level, virtual education opportunities throughout the year for an audience of professionals, students, and community members. Since its launch in Spring 2020, our Online Training Institute has reached an audience of 13,000+ individuals with over 2,400 participants engaged in our interactive webinars. Our goal is to break the cycle of violence by building healthy relationships, empowering communities, and mobilizing bystanders to speak out about abuse and violence. Topics covered include all forms of violence, working with underserved communities, the power of prevention, and more.
Sponsors have the opportunity to publicize their commitment to the work of addressing and ending violence, and their contributions allow us to reach a broader community by offering free registration. To see the full list of sponsorship opportunities and to sign up as a sponsor, you may view our Online Training Institute Sponsorship Deck here.
