Women Rock: Flower Power Music from the Generation of Love
A Benefit For The Center for Family Justice Featuring Band Central
FAIRFIELD, CT – Band Central invites the community to come out and dance to rock hits as we celebrate National Women’s History Month and all strong women out there!
The event, a benefit for The Center for Family Justice (CFJ), begins on Thursday, March 23 with a pre-party at 6:30 p.m. at StageOne in Fairfield.
Guests can catch up with each other and get a first look at the Art for Advocacy program, curated by the CFJ Campus Advocacy unit, which features the powerful work of survivors.
Band Central takes the stage at 7:30 p.m.
Featuring fun and danceable hits from the late 1960s and early 1970s, the night will highlight music from Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Aretha Franklin, Youngbloods, The Doors, Sly & The Family Stone, The Beatles, CSNY and more.
“This music is the soundtrack of a vital time in our culture,” said Rob Fried, Founder and Executive Director of Band Central, a philanthropic organization whose mission is to help local nonprofits in the Greater Connecticut area.
The show features Stephanie Harrison, Barry Blumenfield, Gray Fowler, Mike Marble, Pat Marafiote and Rob Fried.
“We are happy to join with Band Central to honor women and all they have achieved,” CFJ’s President and CEO Debra Greenwood said. “These are stories of strength and hope, and we want to celebrate that.”
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through StageOne’s website. Food and drinks will be available for purchase as well.
