The Center for Family Justice extends its heartfelt thanks to the more than 540 people who attended Speaking of Women 2019 featuring a keynote conversation with Gold Medalist Aly Raisman.
This year’s event, presented by title sponsor People’s United Bank, had the highest attendance of a Speaking of Women event in more than five years, raising more than $175,000 to benefit the programs and services CFJ offers for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence in six local communities.
Special thanks to Speaking of Women’s outstanding emcee, Anna Zap, co-host of the Anna & Raven Show on Star 99.9, Today’s Best Mix, who moderated an inspiring and meaningful conversation with Aly about the importance of supporting survivors of abuse. We also appreciate the strength and courage Aly showed in sharing some of her experiences coping with her trauma as a survivor of sexual abuse.
CFJ is grateful to the many community sponsors and planning committee members, led by co-chairs Anna Rodrigues and CFJ Board Member Sarah Cwikla Mastropole, who made this signature fundraising event possible.
We would like to thank Speaking of Women’s many generous benefactors including The Elizabeth M. Pfriem Foundation; Donna & Phil Craft, Unilever and an anonymous family foundation. We would also like to thank our business and community partners including Aquarion Water, Automatic Door Company, Crystal Restoration, Dorothy Edgerton & Donna Milne, John Rodrigues Insurance, Koskoff, Koskoff & Bieder, PSEG Power Connecticut, LLC, St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Terex Corporation, Turner Construction, UIL Holdings and Vanguard.
Thank you, again, to every person and organization that made this event such a noteworthy success.
We look forward to announcing our 2020 Speaking of Women keynote in the coming months.
